Wendlebury Parish Council supports our neighbours in Chesterton to oppose the Great Wolf development. The flyer below sets out the reasons why this development is unsuitable in Chesterton.
You may ask what are the implications for Wendlebury?
You will all remember the flooding in Wendlebury last month. A significant contributing factor to the flooding here arose from the existing drainage ditches that run out from the Golf club, pass under arable land and subsequently flows through Little Chesterton. It then joins a stream from Simms Farm (on the other side of the M40) that goes onto flow under the A41 and into Wendlebury Brook.
The proposed hard surfaces of the hotel, car park and other facilities will increase the volume of storm water and therefore increase the risk of flash flooding in Wendlebury.
Please write to the Appeals Inspector expressing the potential impact of this development on Wendlebury. Please note the closing is 27 November 2020.
Following the resignation of Katie Mimpress, the Parish Council has a vacancy for a Councillor.
If you are interested in helping serve the community please speak to one of the Councillors or contact the Clerk.
No experience is necessary, but there is lots of training available.
